Sounds like a GREAT place to spend All hallows eve. DEETS!

Well, was in office Wednesday and the woman called me asking if I wanted to attend a Halloween party.

Where I live, a "party" is quite lame.

So, I called her at around 3 pm and told her to pack a bag for me, and for her, with a few days' worth of clothes.

I printed off a note (more on that in a few), swung by home, grabbed her, and we were on our way.

Her family lives in Beverly, MA.

So, I tell her we're going to New Hampshire for the weekend.

We get to customs and I hand the guard my passport. Inside the passport is the note I had printed. It said (paraphrased) "I told her we're going to N.H. but I am actually surprising her by taking her to visit her family in Beverly, MA. Their names are ______ so you can call and verify, but please help me maintain the surprise".

So, the guard looks at me and says "I have one question for you - do you think the Gators are going to be able to win the SEC when they're only managing 14 points a game and don't have Percy Harvin anymore." I was wearing my Gators hoodie, which is how he came to talk about the Gators. So we talked SEC football for a few minutes and it turns out he is a Georgia fan, and this past weekend was the big rivalry game, so we shot the shit about that.

Anyhow, when all was said and done I tossed him a $100 for being a super cool guard and was on my way. As we got to Beverly, I subtly called her father and told him we were pulling in the driveway and to come out and tap on the window to startle her, as she'd passed out (we left NB at around 6 pm and we arriving at 1 a.m. NB time (midnight, Eastern) so she was passed out.

We stopped, he tapped on the window, and she nearly shat herself when she saw her family outside the window.

While down there, I had a great time.  I normally fly everywhere, but this was a last minute trip and plus, I figured autumn in New England would be too scenic to pass up and would win me some points (not to mention, you can't pull a surprise when you go to the airport and I wasn't about to Chloroform my woman for the sake of a surprise lol) .  As such, having driven afforded me more liberties than if I'd been flying.

For instance, BJ's. A bulk wholesale store very much like Costco, only better (in my opinion, comparing it to the Costcos in my region).

So, I loaded up on a bunch of shit.

For example:

200 tubes of toothpaste
220 packets of oatmeal
40 pounds of protein powder.

That kind of shit.

And, of course, Bangor has the greatest pizza in the galaxy. A place called Papa Gambino's. It looks run down, but damn if everything on their menu isn't amazing. So, road trip passing through Bangor and all, of course I was going to indulge and get a pizza.

Friday night we went to a High School football game (her brother played). Saturday afternoon, we went to see BC vs Central Michigan. After that, I watched Georgia vs Florida. After that, we went into Salem for the night. What a spectacle. I'd say, 70,000 people in the streets. Bands playing all over, street vendors everywhere (fried dough seems to be very popular in New England. It's quite disturbing).

It was just an all around kick ass spectacle.

Now, the woman's family is a mixed bunch. Father and his side - Italian. The other side is Jewish (her dad converted).
Friday night, after the high school game, we went back and had a giant Jewish scoff with both sides of the family.

Sunday we did the giant Italian scoff with both sides of the family.

So, all in all, t'was a good 5 days.

I like to hoard, especially the essentials such as toothpaste, shampoo, body wash, toilet paper etc.

i live in a somewhat rural area so I never want to find myself in a position where I have to make a run to the store just for something like toothpaste.

To be perfectly honest, I wasn't intending for it to be a romantic gesture pr anything.

It was more of my over the top nature, than anything.

Someone wants to go to a Halloween party ? Well, fuck the Halloween party locally - let's go to THE Halloween party.
